The Alvin Music Festival and Cook-off, scheduled for the end of this month, is a wonderful event that impacts the community by giving the proceeds to students for scholarships, families in need, organizations that need help and much more.
Which is why it’s with heavy hearts that the Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club will be postponing the event. County and city officials have determined that it would be best to be cautious and not proceed at this time.
And that’s okay. We believe in service above self and we believe that while we may not want to cancel we will follow the directions of government officials for the betterment and safety of the community that we love so dearly.
The Alvin Music Festival and Cook-off is our largest fundraiser and truly helps our community in numerous ways. Ways that can be see-through scholarships and programs but also in unseen ways, like being able to help a family when we hear of a need.
And that is more painful to us than postponing the festival.
We will post more details as soon as they are available, however:
– Festival & Cook-off: We will announce new dates and information as it becomes available.
– Raffle: We are postponing the raffle as well and will post more information when available.
– Ticket Purchases: If you purchased a ticket and would like a refund, please check the email from Eventbrite for the correct process.
